My garden doesn't get much better than this!!!! Those delphiniums must be ten feet all and so pretty. I am praying for no wind. Aren't they spectaular. I started my garden here at the shop about 5 years ago. It's always a good conversation starter and it gets me outside if I've been working too long at my work table. Our Vermont soil is notoriously rocky, but I got very lucky when I started this one!!!! When I started digging up my lawn here at the shop I was expecting the worst. But no rocks. I later found out that the past owner had back filled the lawn with composted manure from the farm around the corner, free topsoil!!!!! Yay! Everything grows like magic in my garden. I get rave reviews and it's the easiest garden I've ever had.
I often say my lampshades looks like a summer flower garden when the are lite. Living here in Northern New England the days get dark early in winter, the days are short and I think about the days when my flower gardens look like this. So I guess my lampshades are the next best thing in winter. They surely brighten up a dark day. I have a writer friend that told me she looks at my lampshades in the morning as she gets out of bed and it helps her start her day. Kind of corny, but I think they probably do help her cheer up and get on with the day.
