My New Years resolution.....To start a series on my blog, Lampshade of the Day. It ought to be easy to put up new shades every few days. Most of what I do is one or two of a kind. I battle with how to put out a catalog.... make my web site better.... oh to have a "line" or not. I love my one of a kind shades. They are great fun to create, except when a customers says, do you have another? or Can I have that in another size. I've learned in my antiquing days, buy it when you see it, because it won't be there when you get back....
My Country Living article will be coming out in the next couple of weeks. I have been trying to keep my little shop stocked as best as possible to be ready for visitors, the phone calls, emails....catalog requests for catalogs that I do not have. Oh dear. My friend Chip is working on up dating my very outdated web site. Yay. I have put it off for way too many years. I hope to have visitors here in the shop. It is a sweet little place loaded to the gills with fabrics, lampshade wires, trims, more fabric, lots of embroideries and always a pot of tea.
This little shade is 5" top by 8"bottom by 6" high. It is a hex bell with a clip top. It is a handy little size for wall pin up lamps, little vintage lamps. I have used an antique embroidery for the shade; it has a flower power look to it. It has a aqua rick rack on the top and a purple tape trim I found at Michaels. The shade is $68. The lamp is cast iron, vintage rewired. The lamp is $45. Feel free to call the shop if you are interested in this lamp and shade or just the shade. shop: 802-325-6308.
