Saturday I stopped by my friend Janno's shop, Flower Brook Pottery in Dorset,Vt. I had to drop off a pair of lampshades before I cruised The Dorset Antique Show. Janno and I have been on a parallel course with our little businesses. We both started doing craft shows at about the same time in our life and we both enjoy our OWN little careers. We're the boss. Yes that is worth a heck of a lot. Janno settled into shop life a little before me, but I was slowly weaning myself from the craft show circuit. Isn't this the cutest little building.
Janno's shop is an adorable little stop in the center of Dorset. When customers ask where should they stop next on the travel I always recommend stoping at Flower Brook Pottery.
Janno's mugs are my favorites. I used one of her teacup lamps in my Lampshade Lady Book, which had chickens like these mugs. Adorable. She also specializes in baby plates with the baby's birth date and name. Very sweet baby gift.
This is amazing. When Fini, the shop kitty died last October I buried him under my pumpkin or should I say I place the pumpkin over his burial..... anyway, as I had hoped a pumpkin seed took hold and just found it Saturday trying to climb the hollyhocks. It want to be a hollyhock flower. I managed to unhook it and get it to the ground after taking this photo. A nice remembrance of Fini; the most loving kitty I ever knew. A male marmalade.
This sunflower was also a self seeded treasure. I've planted lots this spring, but they are a third the size of this monster. It must be 10 feet high and the stock is almost 3 inches thick.
The butterflies will be here soon. Price Chopper's best butterfly bush is still alive.
Oh, my pretty shop flowers; I hope you are still standing when I get to work. As I a writing away now, we are having a early morning thunderstorm with torrential rain. Something tells me I'll have some stacking to do when get down to the shop in a few minutes.
The rain is almost letting up, time to head down the hill to the shop. Come Visit and check out all the new inventory.
