Summer has arrived in Southern Vermont. Just finished reading my book outside on the deck in bare feet and a sunset. Had a busy day in the shop starting projects, finishing projects, helping customers, uploading new photos for Etsy....emails Etsy querries, chatting with a new lampshade maker from the Montreal area. A beautiful day; hot out and cool in the shop. Feels like there are a few more cars on the road now that school is out.
Let's hope the season is a little busier than the past couple. Pawlet Village is a little dreary after the flood, not a heck of a lot for tourists to visit. The excitement is the general store is getting new siding on the south side; the store is built over a deep river crevasse. Watching the siding go on is quite amazing. The sweet little restaurant next to my shop will hopefully be working on their flood repair soon; they need a fancy retaining wall and new septic....can't imagine. Many empty commercial rentals in town will most likely remain unrented until the restaurant opens up again, someday.... hopefully. I fuss with my flower garden at the shop which I must brag is beautiful... the best soil I never did a thing to.... and it's so full of stuff that one can barely see the weeds, sort of! good enough.
The end of the week is here! Here's to Sunday! Happy Father's Day to our great Dad's. I'm lucky to have such a great Dad. As my son is lucky to have a great Dad, too.
Enjoy the day!
