The word on the street is the maple sugar guys are getting ready for sap! That has been meaning in this neck of the woods. PHew, maybe spring will be arriving soon. Today is certainly a tease- sunshine abounds. I ever have my door open for a little fresh air and extra light.
Finished this shade recently, cool straight square with a vintage farm crewel lampshade panel on the front and natural grainsack fabric on the sides. Love how the thick crewel gives such texture. It might fit on a table lamp or floor lamp.

I will be taking a break from teaching this year. I've been teaching my hardback lampshade workshops forever, must be almost 10 years. Time to stay focused and create! Things are busy here in the shop.
If you are missing my workshops and I know a few are dissapointed.... sorry. I recommend picking up my book The Lampshade Lady's Guide to Lighting up Your Life, DIY Projects. It is a great resource and will be a huge help learning to make lampshades or inspriration for Designers, too. Lots of resources in the back. I have a really hard time following instructions myself... which I think actually helped when writing my book. It had to be clear in my little head:) The book was a labor of love and fun; not exactly a big category in the book world. At least it's still pretty current 6 years later.
I do welcome some of my students to take up my role- it's fun to teach. It takes a bit of marketing pr and lots of organizational skills! LOTS. Give it a try and if you would like to post in my comments about your workshop, I'd be happy to share your info. TIP: Just make sure to value your time... it does entail LOTS of emails and phone calls.
I've just sold this dear lampshade! Tiny, tiny needlepoint. I found it from a French dealer on Etsy! There was just enough for this little hex bell lampshade.
I'm listening to the snow melting as I type! Yipee. May have to sit out with a cup of tea while it's nice.
Enjoy the sun!
