Day off today. Great to have a catch up day to visit at the Dorset Farmer's Market, a trip to Shaw's and a stop at our health food store. All those day off errands. On my way home I popped on my iphone and grabbed a few shots. (most cell phones don't work here, but so easy for photos!)
Pretty rolling hills on Herric Brook Road.
Almost back home, Larry's Pond! A few of the maples are still amazing.
Today was scarf washing day, too. Now it can get chilly.... sounds like tomorrow will be below 32 in the am. Kitty Whiskers is curious what's up.
And Girls! pretty kitty.
This year has been fantastic for our fall crop of raspberries. 5 pints today. This time of year they ripen super fast and are HUGE! I pick really heavy, ie ones that are just turning. I've got them out on the counter and they are almost ripe now just since this afternoon. We are getting a frost tonight, but ought to be okay if it warms up in the day. Fall raspberries are so cool. The branches are laden with fruit making the branches hang down low to keep them warmer and out of the frosty night.
Ziggy, my Red Tri Australian Shepard helps out with the berries. She nibbles the low ones!
Oooh Ziggy, You got one!
I squirrel most away in the freezer and save out a few out for dessert and breakfast. Aren't they beautiful! Lots of bees were buzzing down in the raspberry patch, too.
I've finished these shades recently, Pretty Needlepoint Birds. Sweet pair of shades. This links to my Etsy Shop, Lampshadelady.
I am always listing new lampshades.... busy, busy... but now we've just about wrapped up the tourist season; I'll be more dedicated to my blog. It is fun to get scribbling again... what the heck.
all for now,
xo

Fall raspberries?! We don't see those down here in Florida. The colors are stunning too. Competition for the late maple trees!
