The Threaded Uno Lampshade is one of the largest sellers in my shop in Vermont and on Etsy. They are impossible to find in anything interesting. I try to keep a good inventory but sometimes I get behind or my lampshade frame sources are also out. I put 3 new shades in my shop today but still need to fill some more holes.
What is a threaded uno shade? It threads onto the socket of a standing floor lamp that is generally a vintage iron lamp found at antique shops or if you are lucky along the road at a tag sale. Many many times I hear customers say, ooh I have one of those in my basement. And i say dig it out and re-wire it. They are really handy to tuck behind a couch or chair for reading or knitting.
There are 2 kinds of bridge lamps. One has an arm and the light bulb goes UP. This is not that one. Those generally take a clip on shade that is 7" high. These are the ones with the light bulb that hangs down and the shade threads onto the light bulb.
Gotta run and make a few more threaded uno shades. I have a good stock of frames. Key to retail: sell what is scarce!
